BRAVO Chris, BRAVO!

Last month was Qwest's semiannual BRAVO celebration event. It's always fun to go and get dressed up, eat good food and cheer on my wonderful, fantastic, handsome husband. Once again Chris won for "top coach" for the first half of 2009. He is holding strong to numero uno for the sales queue in the entire company. He works so hard day in and day out. I'm so proud of him and the hard work he puts in. Here are some pictures from the night.

WAY TO GO CHRIS!!!

Here are two girls from the team I coached for four months.

Girls night and New Moon

Saturday night was girls night with my girlfriends Camie and Natalie. We went to dinner at The Coppermill, delish, and then stood in line for almost 2 hours to see New Moon (the new "Twilight" movie). Here's a picture of the three of us waiting for the movie to start. We had a great time together. It's always nice to leave the hubbies and kiddos at home. Thanks Camie and Nat for a great night out!

Go Jazz Go...

I won tickets to the Utah Jazz basketball game this week and was super excited to go to the game. I don't ever watch basketball, or many sports on TV (except for the Packers) but I do enjoy going to games in person. It's always fun to get into the game and stand, cheer, dance to the music and people watch. Chris had homework Wednesday night so I asked my friend Carlie to come with me. She loves the Jazz and follows them regularly so she didn't hesitate when I asked her to be my date. We had a GREAT time. We were in the 14th row behind the opposing team, the Raptors. Along with the Jazz tickets we had sponsor room tickets so we got to go eat for free before the game and get free snacks at half time. What more could we ask for???
Here are some pictures of the game in action.

At half time we were trying to find the sponsor room to get some treats and we were stopped by security. Next thing we know...the Jazz players were walking right past us. We being the crazy girls we are yelled out their names in hopes for a smile or wave.

After watching the game my favorite player became Boozer. He had an awesome slam dunk at the end of the game and I even bought myself a Boozer t-shirt. Here are a couple pictures of him at the free throw line. Booooooozer!!!

Swoosh...

The Jazz won the game, and a great game it was!

Home Decor

I finally decided to add a bit of a "homey" feel to our little apartment. When Chris and I got married I moved into the condo he had been living in for the last three years. Calling it a bachelor pad was a bit of an understatement. I spent most of the day Friday cleaning (I've been sick for the past three weeks and needed to de-germ the place), organizing, doing laundry and putting up a few things around the house to look like a girl actually lived here. Here are some pictures of what I did. I'm not the best home decor person, but I think it's made such a huge difference. First is a super cute shelf I found at the best store ever, Sugar & Spice. We got the Live, Laugh, Love words (thanks Max and Beckie) and the mirror with the Logan Temple and our names (thanks Aleesha and Spencer) as wedding gifts. I LOVE them!!!

Here is a picture frame I picked up from Sugar & Spice as well. It matches the shelf perfectly. We finally have wedding pictures of us up! This frame adds soooo much to our place.

I love this next find ($4.00). Every time I look at it I think of the promises Chris and I made to each other in the temple and that we'll be together for eternity!

Here is a picture of Chris and I taken this evening. I woke up this morning and ran a 10K with my friends Camie and Natalie. I ran the WHOLE thing without stopping! I've been working hard on my endurance and my goal is to run the 1/2 marathon in September. I don't love to run, but I love the way I feel when I'm done. I finished the race in 58 minutes, slow and steady. I came home and took a nice nap and have spent the rest of the evening relaxing with Chris and our kitties, Riddick and Mogie. Life is good!

You may be wondering "what the heck is up with Chris' facial hair?!?". I wondered the same thing when he walked downstairs today. He likes to experiment with it and today he has this very crazy do. I'm hoping it will be gone tomorrow morning, but he's pretty proud of it. Here's a closer look. Ah, gotta love him!!!

Father/Son bonding in Malad Idaho

Yesterday morning at 5AM Chris drove up to Malad Idaho to help his dad carry out a deer he got the night before hunting. It was a great chance for some father/son bonding up in the woods. Any chance for Chris to ride his dirt bike in the mountains he's game for. They carried out around 100 pounds of meat, that's a BIG deer! Chris was exhausted by the time he got home last night...he went to bed at 8:30 last night! Here are a few pictures taken.
Chris wanted to go into detail about the whole process, I wasn't interest in hearing it. At one point I started gagging. I'm glad I wasn't there! Here's part of the conversation Chris and I had last night:
Chris: "My dad said he would give us the hide once it's cleaned."
Me: "Are you joking me?!?"
Chris: "No! It would be cool to have."
Me: "Thanks, but no thanks. We don't have anywhere to put it."
Chris: "We can put it at the end of our bed. Lots of people do that."
Me: (GAGGING) "Oh my gosh...I think I'm going to throw up! NO WAY is that thing going on the bed. I don't think so."
Chris: "Hmmm...OK."
Chris and his dad with the deer head strapped to their dirt bike. I think it's pretty gross, but whatever makes them happy...go for it! I'm glad they had a good time together. I'm sure it will be a memory they have forever.

My first 5K

Last Saturday I ran my first 5K (3.1 miles)!!! The run was for a little girl who has leukemia so it was for a great cause and I had a lot of fun doing it. I can't say that I LOVE to run, but I know it's good for me and I really like the way I feel afterwards. I've been doing "boot camp" at the gBoldym for the past two years (I'm addicted AND I've lost 35 pounds) and ran the race with a few other boot campers. Below is a picture of some of us there. I ran my first 5K in 26 minutes, 20 seconds. Not too shabby if you ask me.

Here is a picture of my great friends Natalie and Camie. Natalie is the boot camp instructor and Camie has been doing the class for the two years with me. The three of us have become really good friends over the last couple of years and our husbands get along GREAT so it makes hanging out super fun!!! I can't wait to run my next race...I'm thinking a 10K next!

Cleaning out the camera...

I started looking thru the camera and found a few pictures I thought were blog worthy. The first two were taken this summer while Chris' parents were visiting for a weekend. We went to the zoo down the street (there isn't much at the "zoo", just a few monkeys, birds and some other small animals). It was a fun summer afternoon.

These two pictures were taken two weekends ago while visiting our friends Enoch and Alayne in Pleasant Grove. Chris and Enoch were playing XBox ALLLLL morning long. Nice face Enoch!

These next two were taken at BRAVO last Wednesday. Every six months Qwest honors the top in the center for their hard work either the first half or second half of the year. Chris won the award for "TOP Coach" for the first half of 2009. He has done a wonderful job this year with his team, he's been the number one coach in the region for the last 7 months...way to go!!! Hopefully his success will win "us" another trip.

A few weeks ago I went to the Keith Urban concert in Salt Lake with my friends Ann and Carlie. It was hands down one of the best concerts I've EVER been to!!! Our seats weren't horrible to begin with, but once a mini stage was brought four rows down from us we rushed down and had the BEST spot in the arena. We were a foot from him and enjoyed every second. He is an amazing performer and I will definitely see him again, I've become a huge fan (not as huge as a Goo Goo Dolls fan, but he is a close second)! Here are some pictures from the show.
